About MooNitoring

Livestock insurance has spent enough time indoors.

Excel keeps the barn at a safe distance. We chose to stand inside it, beside the people who deal with the consequences when an animal gets sick. That experience stays with us every day, including when the conversation moves into an insurance office.

Why the company exists

We do the unglamorous work in the middle

Dairy farms already produce detailed operational records. Most insurance processes cannot use those records in their original form because systems, definitions and time periods differ.

MooNitoring connects the sources, keeps their meaning intact and documents how each value was produced. This gives farmers a clearer account of their own history and gives insurers evidence they can test.

Our story

It started as a crazy idea for a university exam

Everything started from a university exam where we wanted to present a crazy idea related to our dairy farming origins.

We spent the last year of university talking with more than 50 farmers to understand their problems, and now we're on a mission to solve them.

The work so far

From conversations to measured evidence

Field work

Farm and insurance conversations shaped the problem

The same record can matter to a farm team, an underwriter and a claims team. Each needs a usable view of the source and sequence.

Data foundation

34.2 million records were integrated across 10 farms

The work established a common layer across official controls, equipment data and farm records made available for the studies.

First model evidence

A repeated 2025 backtest produced a strong first signal

The result supports further validation. It does not prove lower claims, a portfolio result or a production deployment at scale.
